I'm John D. Farquhar, an NRA Training Counselor/Instructor , SAFTD State Master Instructor, and full-time instructor. I have had an interest in firearms all of my life. In the past 20 years gun fighting & gun fight survival have been a key interest of mine.
Of course, avoiding the gunfight in the first place is priority, but how you handle yourself if forced into an encounter is crucial! I dedicate my life to training and educating others on how to defend themselves and their loved ones.
In 1990 I joined the NRA. I have since become a Benefactor Member. I am also on the NRA's Presidents Council, NRA Golden Eagles, & the NRA 2nd Amendment Task Force. In 1992, I became a Certified NRA Instructor. Over the years, I have designed over 100 tactical combat matches at my club. I have coached & trained a large number of shooters in the DCM/CMP competitions. Train USMC and Navy personal at Miami Unversity as Instructors for the ROTC program.
